Ajisai Park (Miyakonojo City)
View moreAs the name implies, Ajisai Park is filled with hydrangeas, called ajisai in Japanese, with approximately 28,000 bushes of 84 different varieties planted throughout. While enjoying the flowers, visitors who arrive at the castle-shaped observation deck situated at an altitude of 210 meters will be treated to a view that includes not only the entire park, but the Kirishima Mountains and the Miyakonojo Basin as well.

Ajisai Road (Nichinan City, Kushima City)

Kohara Ajisai-en (Kohara Hydrangea Garden - Takaharu Town)
Kohara Ajisai-en, or Kohara Hydrangea Garden, started 20 years ago when a couple in Takaharu Town received a single hydrangea plant as a gift. The garden is open to the public for a limited time every year, and visitors can enjoy a total of around 3,400 bushes of 570 varieties.

Saitobaru Burial Mounds (Saito City)
Nearly one million sunflowers bloom throughout the 6.5 hectares of the Saitobaru Burial Mounds. Visitors will be overwhelmed by the scenery woven by the blue sky, yellow sunflowers, and massive burial mounds. In addition to the sunflowers, the area features many other flowers throughout the seasons that collaborate with the burial mounds, such as cherry blossoms and canola flowers in springtime and cosmos in autumn, and every season sees countless visitors here.
